In the wake of anti-bullying week, the BBC have launched an impressive new app to beat cyber-bullies and internet trolls.
The 'Own It' app is a wellbeing program that installs a new smart keyboard onto your child's device and can detect how they are feeling, by the words they are using. It keeps an emotional diary inside the app that tracks how they are feeling, on a day-to-day basis.
The app detects certain words through a filter and will prompt children before a message is sent. It will also offer advice and support through links and videos, if needed.
As a free app, I recommend that parents download and trial this with their children. Any feedback to myself or the welfare and safeguarding team would be greatly appreciated.
