Maths At Home

We understand if some of you are not sure how to best help your children at home with maths!  We only know because it's our job to!  And maths, even in year two, can get quite complicated.  In case you would like some help, I have uploaded a PowerPoint presentation that shows you exactly how we were teaching your child to add, subtract, multiply and divide.  As always if you need any help with anything please contact your class teachers!

Reading At Home!

Your child will have been sent home with a reading book and a Phonics to share at home.

Please log your child's reading book on BoomReader (GoRead) so their class teacher can continue to support them in school effectively. Logins are stuck in the back of English homework books.

Remember children receive a book prize for every 10 books they log and read on GoReadlaugh

We would love you to ask your child some questions about their book.  Below is a list of the types of questions you could ask...

Please help your child to access their Phonics lessons, games and reading books on Bug Club. These are allocated each week and Logins are stuck in the back of English homework books.

Times Tables Rockstars

All children in year 2 have access to Times Tables Rockstars.  Children are expected to know their 2, 5 and 10 times tables fluently by the end of Year 2 and TTRS can help with this.  Your child's login details are at the back of their ,Maths homework books.

KS1 SATs

In May, children will be sitting their SATs tests.  They will have a Spelling, Grammar and Puntuation paper, two reading papers and two maths papers.

We don't want children to worry about these tests but if you wanted to do any practice with your child at home there are copies of past years papers that are available to look at and practice with.

We have put these papers below for you to look at.  For guidance and marking schemes etc you can go to the gov.uk website (click the picture below to take you to these extra resources)
