As well as their reading books, your child can read even more books online with your Bug Club account (the website is detailed below). Class teachers have allocated your child with books, phonic games and lessons to access online at home.
Usernames and passwords have been stuck in the special 'Home Learning Pack' that has been made for your child. Please ask your class teacher if you are unsure of your username and password.
Please continue to upload any new learning that your child shows you at home. As always we will be so excited to share these experiences with you and your child at home.
Information about the Tapestry is detailed below. If you do not have access to this, please email us regarding this and become an active member. We will send you a link so that you can access Tapestry at home.
Apart from the activities in the 'Home Learning Log', we have also included some more simple ideas to try with your child at home to encourage them to progress towards their Early Learning Goals and end of year assessments.
If you have any questions regarding this please email us.
Remember the parent who uploads the most amount of observations each term will win a special prize - hopefully it will be you!
We use this app to record your childrens learning and progress throughout the year.
Did you know that you can log on to Tapestry and read observations about your child and add some of your own?
Please check your emails for an activation email from "Tapestry". Simply follow the link to set up a password, then download the "Tapestry" app from your app store or long on to your computer to get started!
Below you will find information on how to get started and use the app at home and be a part of your child's learning journey.
We really would love you to engage with this and will be giving prizes at the end of the half term to the parents who add the most observations of their child!!!
Early Learning Goals
There are 17 Early Learning Goals in Reception and 7 areas of learning, which are a bit like subjects. These areas of learning are exactly the same as those in a nursery setting so we should be viewed as the final stage in your child’s early learning journey. When your child finishes Reception in July you will be given a report which tells you whether or not your child has met the Early Learning Goal (ELG) in each aspect.
We have included some information about each of the expectations in these different areas. It would really help us if you could tell us if you notice that your child is doing any of these things. You could do this by writing a simple comment on a piece of paper or post-it, a photograph or video, telling us or uploading any of these on TAPESTRY.
We are aware that in Reception so much of their learning is happening at home and we are keen to share and celebrate this.
Thank you in advance!
